Papamochani Ekadashi is a significant Hindu fasting day observed to seek forgiveness for past sins and to purify oneself. According to Hindu mythology, the story behind Papamochani Ekadashi revolves around a conversation between Lord Krishna and King Yudhishthira. It is said that King Yudhishthira once asked Lord Krishna about the most auspicious Ekadashi that could remove all sins. In response, Lord Krishna narrated the legend of Papamochani Ekadashi. The legend goes that there was a prosperous kingdom named Vaidisha, ruled by King Suketuman. Despite being virtuous, the king unknowingly committed sins due to his past karma.
