Gandhari role in Mahabharat

Ganghari is an important character in the Indian epic, the Mahabharata. She was the queen of King Dhritarashtra and the mother of the Kauravas, who were the hundred sons born to her through her husband. Ganghari was blindfolded throughout her married life as an act of solidarity with her blind husband, Dhritarashtra.

Despite her blindness, Ganghari was known for her devotion to her family and her sense of duty. She played a significant role in the events leading up to the great Kurukshetra war, which is the central conflict of the Mahabharata. Her eldest son, Duryodhana, became a central figure in the story as the leader of the Kauravas, who opposed the Pandavas.
