Why Ashwatthama is immortal ?

In Hindu mythology, Ashwatthama is believed to be immortal due to a curse he received from Lord Krishna. After the end of the great Kurukshetra War in the epic Mahabharata, Ashwatthama committed a grave sin by killing the sleeping sons of the Pandavas. Enraged by his actions, Lord Krishna cursed Ashwatthama to wander the earth with eternal pain and suffering, unable to find peace or death. This curse granted him immortality, but also condemned him to suffer the consequences of his actions for eternity.
