After intense penance, he reaches the hermitage of the sage Kataka, who advises him to observe a ritual known as "Samba Dasami Vrata" on the tenth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Margashira.

Following the sage's guidance, Samba observes the vrata with unwavering devotion, ultimately gaining Lord Surya's blessings and getting rid of his leprosy. This miraculous cure becomes the cause for the establishment of the Samba Dasami Puja, observed by devotees to seek Lord Krishna's divine intervention in overcoming challenges and illnesses. The festival symbolizes faith, devotion, and the transformative power of sincere worship.
